A hot jeera rasam is all you need when having cold. Out of all rasams, I love the jeera rasam my mom prepares. This recipe is from her cookbook!
Ingredients
Toor Dal - 1 tbsp
Gram Dal - 1 tsp
Pepper - 8-10 corns
Cumin Seeds - 2 tsp
Coriander Seeds - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - a little
Garlic - 4 cloves (optional)
Tomato - 1
Tamarind - lemon sized
Salt to taste
Method
Boil tamarind extract with garlic pods for 5 minutes.
Grind toor dal, gram dal, pepper, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, curry leaves into a fine powder and add it to tamarind water with salt and allow to boil. Add finely chopped tomatoes.
Once the raw smell is gone, add some water and simmer.
Once you get a froth, switch off heat, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
Bon Appetit!!
