Jackfruit Kofte

We got these yummy jackfruit, which was very sweet this time. And I decided to prepare these koftas, which were sweet and sour.

Ingredients
Jackfruit Slices - 5
Tamarind Paste - 1 tsp
Red Chili Powder - 1 tsp
Gram Flour - 1 tbsp
Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Dhaniya Powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Sour Yoghurt - 1 tbsp
Kasoori Methi - a pinch
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking

Method
For the Kofte
Grind jackfruit slices into a fine paste. Mix it with tamarind paste, a pinch salt, red chilli powder, gram flour and let is rest for half an hour.
Heat oil in a kadai, pour a spoonful of the batter and deep fry till golden brown. Keep this aside.
Heat oil, add cubed onions, ginger garlic paste and saute till golden brown. Add tomatoes and cook till mushy. Grind this into a fine paste and cook again in a kadai.
Add dhaniya powder, cumin powder, garam masala, salt and cook well.
Once the spices are infused well,. add crushed kasoori methi and curd. Stir well on high flame for a minute and remove from the stove top.
Garnish the gravy with finey chopped coriander and lemon juice.
Serve the kofte on the plate and top it with the gravy. Dont add the kofte to the gravy earlier, as it tends to get mushy and loses the flavor.

Im sending this to Ambrosia's ARS Series - F for Fresh Fruit Curries.

Bon Appetit!!
