Fafda

I recently read in TOI, Amdavadis prefer fafdas and jalebis during Dassera. As the occasion mandates, and as I had my Blog Hop today, I hopped to Nayna's Simply.Food and tried fafda. Delicious for a tea time snack.

Ingredients
Gram Flour - 1 tbsp
Maida - 4 tbsp
Red Chilli Powder - 3/4 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - 2 pinches
Sesame Seeds - 1 tsp
Chopped Coriander - a handful
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

Method
Mix all the ingredients together with 1 tbsp oil and water to knead a smooth dough and keep it aside for half an hour.
Take a small ball of the dough and roll it flat into a thin chapathi.
Cut into thin strips or rectangles and deep fry and store air tight.
Enjoy crispy fafda with hot jalebis.

Bon Appetit!!
Rudra
