My Chithappa in-law was in skype and thinking aloud about having bonda for evening snacks.I instantly decided to prepare bonda. The word "Bonda" is a temptress all by itself.
Ingredients
Boiled Potato -2
Onion - 1
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Green Chillie -2
Cumin Seeds - 1 tbsp
Lemon Juice - 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves - a handful
Gram Flour - 1/2 cup
Rice Flour - 1 tbsp
Red Chillie Powder -2 tbsp
Sodium bicarbonate - a pinch
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
Method
Heat oil, add cumin seeds, finely chopped green chilies, onions, ginger garlic paste and saute.
Add mashed potato, salt and mix well. Turn off heat add lemon juice, coriander leaves and make into small balls.
Prepare a batter as for bhajji. Click here to know how.
Dip the potato balls in the batter and deep fry.
Serve hot with coconut chutney.
