Ribbon Murukku

We have a tiffin for breakfast, meals for lunch and dunno what to cook for dinners. The post lunch sessions are the hardest to manage. Everyday sharp at 1900 hrs tummy starts squealing. These ribbon murukkus will save my MIL for sometime now. Its a great snack!
Ingredients
Rice Flour - 2 cups
Gram Flour - 1 cup
Red Chili Powder - 3 tbsp
Butter - 1 1/2 tbsp
Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

Method
Mix all the ingredients together. Add little amounts of water and make into a soft and smooth dough.
Using a murukku press, press the dough into heated oil.
Cook on both sides and remove and let the excess oil get absorbed on a tissue paper. Store in air tight containers so that the ribbon remain crispy.

Your blog's coming along nicely! Very informative! I think some time you should post your MIL's Kesari Bath, one of her speciality!

Great site!
