Chandrakala

A sweet that I go gaga about. I love the texture, the taste, the gooeyness everything. Tried it at home the very first time and after some effort, it was great.

Ingredients
All Purpose Flour - 2 cups
Baking Powder - 1/2 tsp
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Sugar - 2 cups
Khoya - 1 cup
Mixed Nuts - 1/2 cup
Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup

Method
Mix sugar with6 half cup water and boil to get a one thread consistency. Set it aside.
Mix maida, ghee, baking powder and knead into a smooth dough. Set it aside for and hour.
Mix khoya, finely chopped nuts, grated coconut together and make into small lemon sized balls.
Pinch small balls of the dough and roll into flat chapathis.
Keep a ball of the stuffing inside, and fold like a semi circle. Dab some water on the edges and twist the edges inside.
Deep fry the chandrakalas till golden brown and dip them in sugar syrup for 2 minutes. Store in a air tight container. This doesnt have a long shelve life.

Im sending this to Srav's Cooking Concepts - Festive Food, and to Vatsala's Potluck Party

Bon Appetit!!
