Day 3 and a friday. It calls for a Puttu neivedhyam.
Ingredients
Rice Flour - 1 cup
Salt - a pinch
Turmeric Powder - a pinch
Jaggery - 1 cup
Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
Coconut - 2 tbsp
Method
Dry roast rice flour till reddish in color. Add salt and turmeric powder and mix well.
Add very little warm water, and wet the flour. If you take the flour and clasp in your palm, it should hold and when you break, it should be powdery.
Steam cook the rice flour using an idly pan.
Heat very little water and add jaggery. Allow to thicken. It should be thicker than a one string consistency.
Mix the steamed rice flour with cardamom powder, grated coconut and jaggery syrup.
Garnish with ghee fried cashews and serve.
