I have never tried to prepare jams at home. I found this jam recipe online and it was worth the try!!
Ingredients
Water - 1 glass
Sugar - 2 cups
Cloves - 8
Dates - 2 cups
Lemon Juice - 3 tbsp
Chopped Almonds, Pistachio - 2 tbsp
Method
Boil water; add sugar, cloves and stir well.
Grind dates into tiny bits in a mixer. Add it to the sugar syrup along with lemon juice. Keep stirring continuously on low heat.
When the dates are all mixed well with sugar syrup and a gluey consistency is reached add chopped nuts and mix well. Cook for 5 more minutes, until a gel like consistency is reached.
Allow to cool and store in a glass jar. Serve with bread or rotis.
Im sending this to Sonia's Breakfast Club #15 a brain child of Helen's FussFreeFlavors and to Aarthi's HLI-Dates started by Kalyani.
Bon Appetit!!
